Bennington Moosefest 2009 Work in progress!

Moosefest! I am making a moose for the Bennington Vermont Moosefest 2009. The moose will be licking a giant double scoop ice cream cone. The Moosefest website is HERE so check it out.

This is the day the Moose arrived from the company that made it.

Scraps of foamto make the giant ice cream cone

Gluing the pieces together

waiting for the glue to set

Hmmm, that's about right

Roughing out the icecream cone shape with a hand saw

Adding pieces when needed and then carving away with a large sharp kitchen knife

refining the form

Home made hot wire cutter made from a train transformer to cut a bunch of strips

These strips are for the cone detail

Adding the strips to the cone with compound and some nails
